“Alright, Kimbo. You’re ready for this?”
“Teagan, we do this practically every day.”
“Hush. Don’t ruin the moment.”
Teagan trotted down the empty alleyway with her friend at the side, she was in one of her rare good moods. It was a nice break from her normally moody, snippy self. Kim had better appreciate it.
“So, my idiotic brother broke my last board and I’ve got to break this one in. Asshole. I bet your brother was in on it, too. Dweebs. Both of them,” she scowled and tossed her hat unceremoniously to the side.
She watched as her friend placed her own on the floor and donned the equally sour expression.
“Seriously? They can be such tools. I’ll have a chat with Lawrence,” with that she shared a conspiratorial grin with her partner in crime.
“I hope this chat will include a good smack to the face. I’m not one to be opposed to violence, as you know~” Teagan sang out, her good mood quickly returning as she steadied one foot on the board. “I’m glad you decided to step out into the sunlight today. God knows how long you’ve been locked up with your books.”
At times, Teagan would swear that Kim liked her books more than she liked people.
Well, scratch that, Teagan was sure that she liked books more than most people, she just hoped she wasn’t on that list.
“Look at your grades and tell me which one of us should really be the one locked up,” the blonde girl shot out, snarkiness shining through.
Taking it in stride, she hopped on her board and shifted her balance carefully and adjusted her Ray Bans. Teagan placed her fingers near her mouth as if to mimic fangs, “If you don’t be careful… you might become a vampire. Or worse, you might start sparkling like one.”
The brunette snorted at her own joke as she dropped her body weight onto the board, deciding that skateboarding was way too mainstream right now.
Well, actually, she was just feeling like a lazy ass.
“Vampires don’t sparkle,” Kim reiterated, feeling slightly disgusted at her friend’s lack of knowledge.
“Creepy stalker ones do. … Not saying you are one or anything, but locking yourself up can do that to you. Just saying, babes.” Smooth recovery, Teagan. Really.
Kim simply rolled her eyes and pushed herself easily on. Truth be told, she was wicked talented on a board. Not that Teagan would compliment her out loud.
“Here, sit. We can test my new baby, on a more challenging course. Lets just chill. You do know how to chill, right? It’s not beyond your comprehension?” She shot her a cheeky smile just to reassure she was joking. As in, she didn’t mean it. Entirely.
Clearly, her friend didn’t share the same amusement.
“Shut it. I’m as chill as an ice cube,” she said as she took a seat next to Tea on her board.
“Yeah. A melted one,” the singer murmured under her breath as she rocked back and forth.
See, this could be nice. Just relaxing. With her best friend. Her quiet, but fun, bestie. The stress from all the showbiz crap was ridiculously stressful and she hadn’t taken a moment to just sit and process it. It wasn’t like she wanted to talk about it… that was for saps. Even if she knew Kimbo would understand, seeing as Lawrence was all into that.
“Ey Kimby. Lets roll. Like literally roll. From this side to that side. Without standing.”
Basic enough.
Her friend shot her an incredulous look.
“No, no. I promise it’ll be fun. It’s a challenge. You like challenges.”
After a moment of deliberating just how strange she might look, she conceded.
“Alright, fine.”
Teagan: 1. Whoever tries to go against her: 0.
“Alrighty, just gotta give a huge push, tuck your feet up a-“
“I think I can manage, Teagan. I’m not stupid.”
“Well then, bossy. Lets get to it.”
Kim smirked a bit as they positioned themselves on the boards and began to awkwardly charge forward.
“Count of three, lift your legs,” the blonde girl instructed, “3-2-go!”
They lifted their legs and placed them quickly on the boards, only to find that they had slowed to about the pace of a snail, if even.
Teagan let out a mad cackled and reached out to grip her partner’s hand.
“Look! We can go fast if we push with our hands instead! Creative, right?”
They both did what they could with no results.
“Eh, just let it go. Enjoy the skateboard ride that is life, Kimbo dear.”
“Shut up, Teagan.”
